Shmoop, Sparknotes, eNotes, and other such websites that feature advertising. Use the AVL

Five paragraphs, each of which is well-developed (follow the sample essay (page 41) / advice in the text, pp. 3-54).
MLA-formatted (see samples in your textbook).
Include both primary and secondary quotes (primary is from the stories, secondary is something from the AVL / another trusted source.) Do not use Shmoop, Sparknotes, eNotes, and other such websites that feature advertising. Use the AVL.
Insert a clear thesis at the bottom of the introduction and use strong topic sentences (body paragraphs) to connect things together.
Beware of excessive plot summary. Rather explain why your observations and details are important (analysis.)
Submit by the deadline, with an acceptable percentage match. (Usually, this is 15% – 20%.)

Read “The Necklace” on pp. 369 -372.
