Another piece of the needs analysis that will focus specifically on the teenagers being targeted for training is the person analysis. This is further split into a gap and readiness analysis to get an idea of what pressure points need to be addressed or what obstacles are standing in the way of being able to influence the behavior of students when it comes to the idea of illegal drug use.
Details on how team will collect and analyze data
To start off with collecting data, first we want to find out the percentage of teens that use drugs, and what their drug of choice is. This can help us with knowing who we are talking to and how we need to educate them, and what we need to educate them on (certain drugs). For example, if a majority of the teens we are educating don’t use methamphetamine, it might be beneficial for us to educate them on the harm that this drug can do, but that information could be irrelevant for teens that use marijuana or prescription medications. In the past, we see multiple people discuss marijuana as a gateway drug, causing the focus to shift away from the harm marijuana can cause for an adolescent. This can cause shifts in our data. So, it is better to not steer away from the narrative. To collect data on this topic a questionnaire, possibly by using survey monkey or a similar app or website. This would be the most efficient and cheapest
